My favorite retailers to shop as a 30-something

If the “going out” shirt is shoved in the back of your closet, and you waiver between cute athleisure wear and I what am I going to wear to this adult meeting or church I’ve got you covered.

We’ve all seen the memes about where has the bottom half of the shirt gone and I am pretty sure 2023 fashion is trying to take us back to high school and college but trust me there is still hope.

Loft

This is one of the most underrated stores in my opinion. Sometimes they will get a little hit or miss, but then they hit I am loading up a full dressing room. From basics to awesome sweaters, athleisure or loungewear and really good denim Loft has you covered. I have shopped here for 15+ years and what I really love about them is their stuff holds up. You’ll get tired of your Loft pieces before they wear out. Pro Tip: never buy something at Loft at full price, they always have sales. Shop here.

J.Crew

What I love about J.Crew is that their staples are on point but they also bring in unique fashion pieces that help me up my style game. The price points can get high but I am a savvy sales shopper and have always been able to make it work into my budget. Don’t overlook the J.Crew outlet. It’s hands down the best place to buy the brand’s coats, which I can’t recommend them enough. I will say I have never had great luck with the fit of their denim at either store. Shop here.

Express

Bodysuits are in the quality in which Express makes theirs is perfection. I’ll let you in on a little secret. You don’t have to snap a body suit. The extra length on the tails will help the fabric stay smooth and tucked in. Shop here.

Target & Walmart

I go back on these two brands as to which truly comes out as the winner. You can’t beat a $5 tank at Target and some of the sweatshirts and tops I wear the most are from here. Walmart has stepped up its game BIG time. Their outwear is one point and you know my undeniable love for their athletic shorts. The key with Walmart is to shop online for a much larger selection.

Old Navy

Old Navy has a special place in my heart. And while you have to watch the quality of some items there are others that have had a place in my closet for years. I’ve recently become a big fan of Old Navy denim. Especially these straight-leg heavyweight jeans.

Banana Republic Factory

In my 20s it was all BR. However, it has been a long time since I bought something from their main store. If you are looking for rich colors and interesting fabrics you have to check out Banana Republic. I also love that they are a sister brand to Old Navy so I can do one checkout between the two stores. Shop here.

Amazon

Last but not least we can’t leave out Amazon. I feel like I only keep 1 out of every 4 items that I buy from Amazon but what I keep is really good. Following others’ finds on IG or LTK is helpful but just remember every piece they find is truly not the “most amazing thing ever”. If you are looking for a Lulu dupe Amazon is going to have you covered.
