We have officially lived in our new house for one year! Often it feels like only a couple of months, especially when I look at all the picture frames still with their placeholder random people pics. Hello generic family standing in front of the San Fransisco bridge.
During the first few weeks I felt like it was nonstop Amazon and Walmart orders trying to find all the decor and organizational items. But, when I look back on what pieces are truly helpful or bring my joy these are at the top of my list.
Mini Trash Can: Jon and I aren’t the tidiest people. Not a ton of OCD in this house, but I still want things clean. I have learned the best strategy for getting things done (especially for my husband) is to make things have the least amount of resistance. This little trash can sits between our sink and is the perfect size for Q-tips, contact wraps, etc. I need to buy another one for his bedside table.
Loloi Rugs: We have two of these rugs and I think the key is the Loloi brand (they have partnered with a lot of different influencers). These rugs are SO soft. We have one in our guest bedroom and main bedroom. They have also stood up to a dog puking in the middle of the night. Fun times.
Hat Storage: These have been such an awesome way to store hats. We have two in our closet and then another one on the inside of a closet door in our mudroom. I will say the stickers they came with weren’t strong enough so I used Command Strips.
Oil Can Soap Dispenser: It is cute, not that expensive, and hasn’t rusted in a year. I have these in our primary bathroom and kitchen.
Softest Towels: We have now had these towels for a year. The bath, hand and wash cloth sizes. They are amazing and still as soft as the day we bought them.
Appliance Casters: We have an appliance garage and these have been great on our air fryer.
Sisel Rug: Only $7 and at 3 of our doors. These last a long time (had them at our farm house) and help keep dirt out.
I am curious if you have any longtime house loves.
